The Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg was founded in 1973 and is known as one of the younger universities in Germany. Its main goal is to find answers to central societal questions of the 21st century through interdisciplinary cutting-edge research and teaching. The university maintains close cooperation with over 200 universities worldwide and entertains relationships to non-university facilities in the areas research, education, culture and economy. Around 16.000 students are being prepared for their future corporate life. The range of courses covers a wide spectrum from the humanities and cultural sciences to economics, law and social sciences, as well as mathematics, computer science, the natural sciences and medicine.
The kick-off event of the future discourse “Democratization of Innovation” was accompanied by DIALOGPICTURE. In addition to keynote speeches and an introduction to the events content, it was discussed what new innovation actors and forms of cooperation can achieve in transforming the economy. After an exchange of experiences in small groups, the opportunities, boundaries and requirements of co-innovation processes between students and companies were discussed and simultaneously translated by our illustrator. The guests were sent off by the initiator and conductor Prof. Dr. Klaus Fichter and the project coordinator Nina Heiting with an outlook on future formats of the projects. The final graphic recording results captured the thoughts, discussions and impulses of the day in a picture.
“As part of the future discourse “Democratization of Innovation”, the documentation of the exchange, discourse and impulses is of great importance. The visual documentation from DIALOGPICTURE supports the memory process and creates new impulses through the details in the image. The visual representation makes it easier to access the difficult topic and new actors can be reached - in line with the goal of the future discourse: to give many actors an active role in the innovation process and to use the value of different perspectives.”
