The TÜV Rheinland Group is a leading provider of technical services worldwide. Founded in 1872 and headquartered in Cologne, the Group employs 20,000 people, 8,000 of them are based in Germany. It generates annual revenues of € 1.88 billion. The Group′s mission and guiding principle is to achieve sustained development of safety and quality in order to meet the challenges arising from the interaction between man, technology and the environment.

TÜV Rheinland started a comprehensive change program which addressed a new strategy, projects to improve internal processes and changes of the company culture and leadership culture.

In order to ensure that everyone has the same understanding of the future basic principles, strategy and values of the company, TÜV Rheinland decided to create a dialog picture. The objective was to stimulate the exchange of the most important topics, which TÜV Rheinland will be dealing with in the upcoming years. The creation of the dialog picture was a very complex project which was accompanied by the team of DIALOGBILD over several months.

The strategy is located on a street, which leads through a bridge into the future, essential elements of the strategy 2020.


The starting point for the dialogue picture was a workshop where the top management of the company determined the subject areas and decided where they should be located in the background scenery. The team of DIALOGBILD provided content-related and important illustrative impulses. Most of the ideas for the scenes in the dialog picture resulted in a following creative workshop during the annual Group Management meeting of the company in April 2016, where more than 200 international managers participated.  


The individual picture areas were filled with life and content during five separated workshops consisting of 30-50 participants which took place at the same time. In the same night, DIALOGBILD put all results together to create one big picture so that the results could be presented in front of the plenum the next morning. Afterwards, the ideas were finalised and included in one conclusive overall picture.


In order to ensure that every employee worldwide can use the dialog picture, the team of DIALOGBILD prepared a textual guideline as well as an interactive version of the picture, which can now be found on the intranet of the company. The objective: The employees should be able to interpret the dialogue picture in teams or individually to understand the business strategy and essential values.
